Junior School Sports:

Junior school cricket:

Final was played between Laidlaw and Scottish. In a thrilling encounter Laidlaw beat Scottish Canadian.

Throw ball:

Woodburn and Elliot were the finalists where the girls from Elliot cottage beat the girls from Woodburn in a very closely fought match.

Basketball is still going on for the junior school, Swimming and Football will follow after the summer break (18th May till 29th May).

Basketball Boys:

Pool A: Wiston, Laidlaw, Grant, Scottish.

Pool B: Calcutta, Hart, Heathland, Assam.

Cottages moved to the semifinals after the league matches:

Wiston and Hart went through to the semifinals. But it was Wiston that went through to the finals beating Hart cottage by just one and a half basket. The final score 27 baskets to 24.

The next semifinal was between Laidlaw and Calcutta and it was Laidlaw that got the better of Calcutta and went through to the finals to face wiston cottage. The final score 18 baskets to 9.

The finals were all set between Laidlaw and Wiston. Both the teams put up the best and gave it all that they could but it was Laidlaw that were the victors to a very tough looser Wiston. The final standings are as follows: Laidlaw, Wiston, Hart, Calcutta, Sciottish, Heathland, Assam and Grant.

Basketball Girls:

In the girls side Thorburn took on Bene. Bene gave the match over to Thorburn by giving a walkover. The other two matches were between Woodburn and Mansfield. After a hard fight it was Woodburn that came through and moved to the finals to play against Thourburn cottage. In the finals Woodburn got an easy victory against the Thourburn girls, the final score: 56 baskets to15.

The final standings are as follows: Woodburn, Thorburn, Mansfield, Bene and Elliot.

Throw ball Girls:

In the game of throw ball saw the same teams that took the game of basketball by storm. Woodburn taking on Mansfield in the first semifinals and Thorburn taking on Bene in the second semifinals. After a grueling session the two teams that came on top from the two semifinals were Woodburn cottage and Thorburn cottage. These two cottages were to meet in the finals. The final, set between Woodburn and Thorburn. Once the game got underway the two teams played very hard not giving either an inch, but at the end of the day it was Woodburn that came through to take the finals, Thorburn cottage loosing to a better team.

The final standings: Woodburn, Thouburn, Bene, Mansfield and Elliot.

 

Inter School Basketball Girls Tournament:

The inter school basketball tournament was held on the 11th and12th of May. The Homes girls played very well and got through the two league matches beating Rockvale Academy and Loreto Convent moving to the semifinals. The semifinal was played against Sapta Shree Gyan Prith School (SSGP). After a very hard and determined fight the Homes team came through to win the semifinals and moved to the finals.

In the other group matches, the team to look out for was the St. Joseph's Convent School. It was inevitable that Homes and St. Joseph's Convent would meet in the finals and they did.

The final was played on the 12th May. The two teams played to the best of their abilities and gave all they had. As always, only one team can win the finals unfortunately it was St. Joseph's Convent that came through to win the finals. The final score: 53 baskets to 32. The final standings are as follows: St. Joseph's Convent, Dr.Graham's Homes, Loreto Convent, Sapta Shree Gyan Prith.
